The Pond is a record label, studio complex and creative community based in South London, founded and run by Mura Masa.

 

At the heart of The Pond is a network formed of artists, multi-disciplinary creatives and developing sub-scenes on the frontline of music and culture. 

 

It’s a place of trusted taste, cultural exchange and sanctuary.

With the completion of the Pond studio complex in summer 2026 we will soon have a physical home. 

​

The Pond aspires to resist the pressures towards an ever more uniform experience of culture. To provide refuge away from the more advertorial, capital focused environments around being a creative.

The Pond is a platform, providing a stage for the works + tastes of community members through our digital editorial, Pond Recommends, and @the.pond.community Instagram; manifesting in physical connections and friendships with local and global IRL Pond gatherings and events.

Pond Recommends is a monthly archive of original works, cultural recommendations and contributions from members of The Pond community.

Membership is currently restricted to a referral system to preserve a shared sense of belonging and alignment of interests, values and taste. However, the public can subscribe to Pond Recommends and updates below.

 

We hope to create a network so virile that it grows its own heartbeat, breathing on collective spirit and an attitude of a more intimate community surrounding our collective creative works.
